Dear Parent/Guardian,
End of year reports
The children will be bringing home their reports today. These are short summative reports giving you their end of year teacher assessment data and a comment from the class teacher and myself. The children also have the opportunity to reflect on their year.
Beginning of the day
Please remember that the children are not supervised before 8.45am unless they attend the morning club. The gate will be unlocked when the playground is supervised in order to ensure that the children are safe. Please do not send children to school before this time unaccompanied.
Forest school
Thanks to the PTA funding, Louise Smedley has attended her training and will lead Forest school again next year. YR will have their sessions on Thursday mornings and years 1 and 2 on Friday mornings. We would very much like parents to join these sessions so if you could help on a regular basis or just a one off please get in touch so that we can put a rota together.
Moving up day
We hope that all of the pupils enjoyed the opportunity to spend the afternoon with their new teacher and classmates. Just to confirm the arrangements for next year; Reception class- Mrs Manser, Year 1- Mr Armstead, Year 2- Mrs Caddick in the mornings and Mr Armstead in the afternoons, Year 3/4- Miss Giggins, Year 5/6 Mrs Kent, Mrs Mobsby and Mrs Tebbutt. Year 3 and year 5 will be taught maths by Mrs Dickson.
Sports Day
Many thanks to everyone who came and supported our sports day this year, it was a fun but hot afternoon. Thank you also to the PTA and helpers who provided the refreshments, and to Monkshood coffee for donating £40. A total of £342.85 was raised. We have used this money to buy some more maths lesson resources.
Year 5/6 production
The year 5/6 production will be held on Tuesday 16th July and Thursday 18th July at 6.30pm. There are a few tickets available on Parentpay. The PTA will be serving refreshments during the interval on both evenings.
Celebration assembly
Our celebration assemblies are now in full swing. We have a crèche for younger children to attend so that they don’t disturb the worship time. Everyone is welcome to join us but please try not to arrive before 2.35pm for a 2.40pm start so that we can prepare the hall and get the children settled. The children from each class will share some of their current learning. The dates for this are: 12th July- Y3/4, 19th July- YR.
Inset day
The Inset days for the next academic year have been set as Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd September 2019, Monday 6th January 2020, Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st July 2020. Also please note that the May Bank Holiday has been changed to Friday 8th May 2020.
