Newsletter 11th January

11.01.19
Dear Parent/Guardian
Bumped heads.
We are amending our practice regarding pupils who bump their heads in school. The children will be given a wrist band to wear which will make us at school, and you or any provider after school, aware that the child has had a head bump. We will also send an email home which we require you to reply to, so that we know you are informed.
Children’s open mic
Unfortunately Tim has decided to stop running the open mic session for children as there was not very much uptake in the last few months. We would like to thank Tim, and Brett for providing this opportunity and giving up their time for the children at school.
Year 3 and 4 production
The children in years 3 and 4 will be performing their Egyptian musical on February 12th and 13th. This is a change from the original dates as Mrs Bateman will be leaving to go on maternity leave at the end of February, and really wanted to give the children the opportunity to perform before she went.
Judo taster day
All of the children from years 1-6 took part in the judo taster day on Wednesday 9th January. Omar is hoping to start up an after school club so if you are interested please sign up through the link which was on the email sent out following the sessions on Wednesday.
RSPB Birdwatch
We have signed up to take part in the RSPB birdwatch. This runs from now until half term. The younger children will look for birds at forest school and do some follow up work in class and the KS2 pupils will do their work on site. There is lots of information on the RSPB website, maybe you could participate at home too.
Celebration assembly
Our celebration assemblies start again today at 2.40pm. We have a crèche for younger children to attend so that they don’t disturb the worship time. Everyone is welcome to join us. The children from each class will share some of their current learning, the dates for this are 11/1-Y3+4, 18/1-Y5+6, 25/1-Y1+2, 1/2- YR, 8/2- Y3+4, 15/2- Y5+6
Governing Body
We are looking for a new parent representative to join the board of governors. If you are interested in the role or would like any more information please contact the school office.
Food allergies
Please note we have pupils in school with nut allergies. Please avoid sending nuts or nut products into school or in lunch boxes.
Parking
Please can parents not park in, or at the entrance to, the staff car park at the beginning or end of the day. There have been some incidents of staff not being able to park or having their access blocked.
Dates
Friday 8th February- informal coffee morning 8:45-9:45am
Tuesday 12th February 2pm+ Wednesday 13th February 6pm- Y3/4 production
Wednesday 13th February- individual and family photos
Friday 15th February- break up for half term.
Best Wishes,
Cathy Gouldstone
