Dear Parent/Guardian,
Sports Day
Sports Day is planned for Friday 28th June. We will start the activities as soon after 1pm as we can.
The PTA will be serving refreshments from 12.30pm and Monkshood coffee will also be there.
Celebration assembly
Our celebration assemblies are now in full swing. We have a crèche for younger children to attend so that they don’t disturb the worship time. Everyone is welcome to join us but please try not arrive before 2.35pm for a 2.40pm start so that we can prepare the hall and get the children settled. The children from each class will share some of their current learning, the dates for this are, 14th June- YR, 21st June- Y5/6, 28th June-sports day, 5th July- Y1/2, 12th July- Y3/4, 19th July- YR.
Work experience
Emily Gray, who is an ex-pupil, is joining us on a Tuesday and Thursday each week until the end of term on a work experience placement. She will be accompanying the children to forest school and helping in the classrooms in KS1 and YR.
Inset day
The Inset days for next academic year have been set as Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd September 2019, Monday 6th January 2020, Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st July 2020. Also you may have heard in the news that the May Bank Holiday has been changed to Friday 8th May 2020 to mark the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.
Whole school science day
We are really pleased that we have been able to arrange the whole school trip to the new innovation centre in Oxford. This is a great opportunity to access hands on science both indoors and outdoors. Please can you make sure you go on to Parentpay and complete the consent forms and payment for the coach. There is an additional form from Science Oxford which they need for photographic consent. This also needs to be completed and sent back to school.
KS2 Sports finals
Congratulations to the year 3/4 badminton team and the year 5 badminton team both of whom have qualified for the Schools Sports Partnership finals which will be held at Stoke Mandeville Stadium on Wednesday 19th June.
Mornings
Thank you for encouraging your children to come into school independently it is really helping the teachers to have a smooth start to the day with the children, and helping the children to be able to access their spaces easily.
Year 5/6 production
Please note, we have had to change the dates of the year 5/6 production. It will now be held on Tuesday 16th July and Thursday 18th July.
