Newsletter 12th October

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Our harvest service this year is on Friday in the church at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to join us. The children had a reflective prayer space time on Wednesday focussing on water. They will share their reflections at the service. We will be having a collection for the charity Water Aid.
The proceeds from this summer village event are being donated to the school. We are really grateful to everyone who was involved in running this event for their generosity. A cheque for £1000 will be presented at the first open mike session at the Pilgrim on Tuesday 17th October. The pub will be open from 3pm and performances will start at 3.30pm. Any children wishing to perform can turn up and sign up for a 10 minute slot. There will be a children’s menu available.
Macmillan coffee morning
What a lovely event this was. Many thanks to everyone who came and supported it. Altogether we raised £264.20
The quiz night was a great success and raised £414. We have a cake sale after school on Friday 20th October, any cake contributions will be gratefully accepted.
Beginning of day
The beginning of day is now running more smoothly with most children entering the school independently. It is really important that parents do not enter the classrooms and disturb learning in the mornings. Please can I also remind parents to use the car park entrance into the school if you have small children in buggies. The grass slopes at the side of the steps should not be used.
Class photos
If you wish to view the class photos in full size, they are displayed in each classroom. Please can you send in any orders by Monday 16th October.
Please be aware that we have some children in school who are allergic to nuts. Please try to avoid putting nuts or nut products into children’s lunchboxes.
