Newsletter 15th May

Dear Parent/Guardian,
PTA Family Fun Fest
The school building on this site is 50 years old this academic year. We are celebrating “50 years on the hill” with an exhibition of old photos and memorabilia alongside the family fun day on Saturday 18th May. We hope that many staff and pupils, past and present will join us to celebrate. Please spread the word so that we can get as many people together as we can on the day. If anyone can bake cakes for refreshments please send them in to school on Friday 17th May. Please avoid nut or nut products.
Celebration assembly
Our celebration assemblies are now in full swing. We have a crèche for younger children to attend so that they don’t disturb the worship time. Everyone is welcome to join us. The children from each class will share some of their current learning, the dates for this are 17th May- Y1/2, 24th May- inset day, 7th June Y3/4, 14th June- YR, 21st June- Y5/6, 28th June-sports day, 5th July- Y1/2, 12TH July- Y3/4, 19th July- YR.
Statutory testing
Pupils in year 2 will be having some assessments which are set by the DfE next week.
The pupils in year 1 have their statutory phonics assessment in the week commencing 10th June; again it is important that your children attend during this week.
Board Games for Breakfast
Following on from our successful books for breakfast we are inviting you to come into school between 8.15 and 9.30am on Friday 17th May to play games with the children over a drink and pastry. If you wish to attend and haven’t already let the office know please do so as soon as possible so we know numbers for catering.
Staffing
We are very sad to inform you that Mrs Miles will be leaving the school at the end of May. Mrs Rooney will be covering the office until the end of the school year and we are hoping to appoint a new member to join our office team for September.
Mornings
As we are now in the summer term there is no need for parents to be bringing children into school at the beginning of the day. They are all secure and familiar with the morning routine and parents in the classroom/ locker areas just make it difficult for the rest of the children. Please leave your child at the gate in the mornings.
Year 5/6 production
Please note we have had to change the dates of the year 5/6 production. It will now be held on Tuesday 16th July and Thursday 18th July.
Food allergies
Please note we have pupils in school with nut allergies. Please avoid sending nuts or nut products into school.
