Newsletter 16th November

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Parents meeting
It was so lovely to see so many people here for the open evening. We hope that you enjoyed sharing your child’s work with them and gained an understanding as to how they are progressing. If you have any questions about their work, or any other issues, at any time, please get in touch as we are happy to have brief discussions throughout the year.
You will have received an email this week regarding a parents’ meeting for all year groups looking at effective ways to hear your child read. This will run on Monday 4th December at 6.30pm.
Book Fair
The book fair was very successful, thank you for supporting it. Altogether we have received £244-60 worth of books in commission.
Open Mic
Please come and join us for the second open mic session on Tuesday 21st November. The pub will be open from 3pm and performances will start at 3.30pm. Any children wishing to perform can turn up and sign up for a 10 minute slot. There will be food available with a special children’s menu.
The Artisan Christmas Fayre is tonight, from 7pm-9.30pm. Entry is free, so come along for a browse and pick up a few Christmas gifts as you go. There are some new stallholders this year as well as some of the old favourites.
Traffic and parking
Please do not park around the church at the beginning and end of the school day. The bus is unable to get through to the school and it is causing a number of issues for villagers who are unable to get to and from their homes. Try and park down in the village and walk up the hill.
I have been contacted by the village Speedwatch coordinator regarding unsafe driving through the village. Please drive slowly and carefully though the village especially at the beginning and end of the school day.
We have a vacancy for a school Governor. If you are interested or want some more information, please speak to one of the current board or ask at the school office.
Please be aware that we have some children in school who are allergic to nuts. Please try to avoid putting nuts or nut products into children’s lunchboxes.
Thursday 16th November- Artisan Christmas Fayre- 7-9.30pm
Friday 17th November- books for breakfast 8.15-9.15am
Friday 17th November- Children In Need mufti day
Friday 24th November- KS2 film night

Cathy Gouldstone
