Newsletter 24th March

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Music concert

Well done to everyone who took part in the KS2 music concert. It is always amazing to see the talent, and the confidence to perform, amongst our pupils. It makes us very proud. Our thanks go to Mr Armstead for organising this event.

An amazing £115-50 was raised from the cake sale, thank you to the kind bakers who provided a great variety of treats. Also £352.48 was raised from the film night, thanks again to the merry band of helpers who came and supported this event. All of this money will go towards our aim to purchase some tablets for school.

Science week

Our science focus week went very well. Children took part in lots of practical activities as well as the “Under the Microscope” challenge. This really demonstrated our ethos of loving learning and truly caring, watching pupils support each other in the challenges set for them. The exclamation of “This is so cool!” as their lid shot off the pot during an experiment was just great.

End of topic celebrations

It was lovely to see so many people join us for the year 1 French Café and the year 2 Grandparents afternoon a lot of fun was had by all. The children in year 3/4 made gingerbread houses with the help of a number of parents.

Theatre Company

On Wednesday 13th April we have M and M Productions coming in to perform “Treasure Island” to the whole school. The children will work from this stimulus and there will be a display of their work put up outside the year 5/6 classroom.

We have recently experienced a few cases of work being sent into school on memory sticks that contain viruses. Please scan your home computers and, if you don’t already have virus protection, consider downloading on (eg or
