Dear Parent/Guardian,

Theatre Company

On Wednesday 13th April M and M Productions came into school to perform “Treasure Island” to the whole school. The children worked from this performance as a stimulus to produce a variety of work. The children in year 1 shared some of their learning in celebration assembly and other work is displayed on the boards opposite the year 5/6 classroom.

PTA

Our next cake sale will be on Friday May 6th. There will also be a summer event running on the evening Saturday 25th June. Please keep the date free in your diaries.

SATs week

Monday 9th May- Thursday 12th May is SATs week. The times and dates for the tests, which will be sat by the pupils in year 6, are set as a national timetable. It is very important that your children attend school that week. The pupils in year 5 will also be sitting assessments at that time. Pupils in year 2 will be having some assessments which are set by the DfE but will be spaced out over the month of May and carried out in an informal way.

First Aid training

The North Marston Poors Piece and Clocklands Charity have very kindly offered to fund 2 half day sessions of first aid which will be provided by St John Ambulance. This is for the pupils in years 5 and 6. This will run on 16th and 17th May.

The Queen’s 90th Birthday

On Friday 13th May we will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday. The children will be asked to come into school wearing red, white and blue. Family and friends will be invited to join us at 2.30pm for our “street party” in the playground. The children will then share their work with you and we will have some small treats to eat. If anyone could help by providing some of these for us to share please let your child’s teacher know. It is important that these are nut/nut product free.

Nut allergies

Please remember that we have pupils in school who have nut allergies. We would be grateful if you could avoid putting nuts or nut products in your child’s lunchboxes or bringing them into school.

Head lice

We have had a few cases of head lice in school recently. Please can everyone check their children’s hair this weekend and treat if necessary? It is important that you check your children on a regular basis.
