Newsletter 31st October

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Parents’ Open Evening
Our first parents’ open evening for the year is on Monday 13th November. It will run from 3.30-7pm. This is the opportunity for you to come to school with your child and share their learning with them. They can show you their books and talk about what they have done so far this year in school. The class teachers will be available for you to talk to. We do not run traditional appointment led parents’ evenings as we feel that if at any point in the school year we need to talk to you we can make an appointment at a relevant time. We hope you will take this opportunity to spend time with your child talking about their learning and finding out more about the school.
Book Fair
We will be holding a book fair which will run after school on Friday 10thand Tuesday 14th from 3.10-3.45pm. It will also run during the open evening on Monday 13th November from 3.30-6.45pm. The school will receive free books in commission.
Books for Breakfast.
This is a new event which we are holding as part of book week. You are invited to come to school between 8.15 and 9.15am for a drink and a pastry and to read with your child or a group of children. A separate letter has been sent out with a reply slip so that we know how many people to cater for.
Open Mic
Please come and join us for the second open mic session on Tuesday 21st November. The pub will be open from 3pm and performances will start at 3.30pm. Any children wishing to perform can turn up and sign up for a 10 minute slot. There will be food available with a special children’s menu.
The Artisan Christmas Fayre is on Thursday 16th November from 7pm-9.30pm. Entry is free, so come along for a browse and pick up a few Christmas gifts as you go. There are some new stallholders this year as well as some of the old favourites.
Many thanks to everyone who supported the cake sale on 20th October, we raised £92.50.
Shoe Box appeal.
Many thanks to everyone who has returned filled shoe boxes for the Christmas appeal. These are being collected at the end of this week so there are still a few more days to send any more in.
Please be aware that we have some children in school who are allergic to nuts. Please try to avoid putting nuts or nut products into children’s lunchboxes.
