Newsletter 5th February

Dear Parent/Guardian
School Photos
The photographer will be in school to take the individual and family group photographs on Wednesday 13th February. If you wish younger children to be included in the family groups please bring them to school at 8.45 and we will endeavour to get them taken first thing.
KS1 reading books
We are changing the reading book system for the children in years 1 and 2. Mrs Kent will be running a meeting on Monday 25th February at 6.30pm to explain the changes and what you can do to help.
Bumped heads.
We have now introduced our new practice regarding pupils who bump their heads in school. The children will be given a wrist band to wear which will make us at school, and you or any provider after school, aware that the child has had a head bump. We will also send an email home which we require you to reply to, so that we know you are informed.
RSPB Birdwatch
All of the children have now had the opportunity to carry out their birdwatch, either on the school site or at Forest School, and we have submitted our data. Our follow up work will be displayed in the year 3 and 4 locker area. Please come and take a look in a few days’ time once it has been created.
Celebration assembly
Our celebration assemblies are now in full swing. We have a crèche for younger children to attend so that they don’t disturb the worship time. Everyone is welcome to join us. The children from each class will share some of their current learning, the dates for this are 8/2- Y3+4, 15/2- Y5+6
Coffee morning
We are holding another informal coffee morning on Friday 8th February. You are invited to join us in the school hall between 8.45 and 9.45 for a drink and a chat. There will also be a couple of the Governors there who will be happy to listen to any thoughts and ideas you may have about the school or answer questions about the governing body.
Chinese New Year
We are holding another RE day on Wednesday 13th February to learn about and celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Food allergies
Please note we have pupils in school with nut allergies. Please avoid sending nuts or nut products into school.
Please can parents not park in, or at the entrance to, the staff car park at the beginning or end of the day. There have been some incidents of staff not being able to park or having their access blocked.
We have had a few cases of headlice recently, please can everyone check your children and treat if necessary.
