Newsletter 7th November

7.11.18
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Parents’ open evening
Open evening will be on Monday 12th November from 3.30-7pm. This is an opportunity for you to come into school with your child and look at their books together. It is important that the children see you valuing their learning and sharing the opportunities which they have had so far this term. The teachers will be in the classrooms for you to speak to about their learning.
Spelling meeting
Mrs Kent is running a meeting for parents to explain our approach to teaching spelling in school. She will also talk about things that you can do at home to support spelling and phonics. This will be from 6.30-7.30pm on Monday 26th November.
Book Fair
We will be running the book fair again this year. It will run alongside the open evening on Monday 12th November and also after school on Friday 9th and Tuesday 13th November. There will be a good selection of books for all ages for you to purchase.
Celebration assemblies
Everyone is welcome to join us for our celebration assemblies on Fridays at 2.40pm. The dates that children will be sharing their learning this half term are: 9/11- Y3/4, 16/11-Y5/6, 23/11- Y1/2, 30/11-YR, 7/12- YR/1/2 Christmas production, 14/12- RE day celebration.
Beginning and end of day
Please can you remember to park away from the school at the beginning and end of the day and when picking up from after school clubs. The roads are very narrow around school and inconsiderate parking blocks to way for everyone.
Please also remember that the teachers are busy working with the children in the classrooms at the beginning of the day. Please do not disturb them by going into the rooms with your children. You can leave messages with Mrs Gouldstone at the gate or the school office. Alternatively you can email the office.
Governing Body
We are looking for a new parent representative to join the board of governors. If you are interested in the role or would like any more information please contact the school office.

Food allergies
Please note we have pupils in school with nut allergies. Please avoid sending nuts or nut products into school or in lunch boxes.
Christmas cards
If you placed an order for Christmas cards I hope you are pleased with them. We raised £212.80 for the school, so thank you for your support.
