Dear Parent/Guardian,

Attendance

We are so pleased that all pupils have been able to return to school and are following the protocols to keep themselves and others safe. We are aware that with the new opportunities to mix with others in many different settings, that some children are picking up the usual seasonal germs including colds. Pupils are still expected in school if they have a cold but please check that they don’t have a temperature. Their own stock of tissues would be helpful too. Should your child show Covid-19 symptoms – high temperature, persistent dry cough, loss of taste/smell, please inform us and begin isolating. You will need to book a test for the symptomatic child. Symptomatic people will need to isolate for 7 days and other members of the household for 14 days.

Meet the teachers evening

This was planned for Monday 14th September, however due to the current climate we will not be running this face to face. Information will be sent home via email from each class teacher and also put onto the class page on the website. We are disappointed not to have been able to hold this meeting, and also we are unable to hold celebration assemblies.

Contact/medical information

If there are any changes to your contact details or your child’s medical information please can you advise the office ASAP. We need to be able to contact you should there be an emergency or to be able to take the correct actions should they become unwell.

Individual photographs

The school photographer came into school to take individual and family group photographs on Wednesday 9th September. We will send the proofs home once we receive them for you to order your copies.

Forest school

We will be running the forest school sessions every week on site for the time being, and will notify you of any changes when we have plans to return to the Sportsfield site.

Governors

We currently have a vacancy on the Governing Board. If you are interested in supporting the school in this way, or would just like some more information regarding the role, please get in touch with Mrs Gouldstone or Mrs Kent.

Morning arrangements

Thank you so much for following the guidelines for the beginning and end of days. Please make every effort for your children to be in school on time. If you have a message for the teacher at the beginning of the day, please tell the member of staff on the gate or email the office. If you wish for your child to be in school before 8.45 they may attend the morning club which runs every morning from 7.45am. The cost is £3.00 per child per session. Please book with the office at least 24hr in advance if you wish your child to attend.

Jeans for Genes

Friday 18th September is Jeans for Genes day. Pupils are able to wear jeans and their own choice of sensible shoes, but please keep school jumpers and polo shirts as usual. A contribution of £1 is suggested to support the charity.
