Dear Parent/Guardian,

PSHE and curriculum parents meeting

Thank you to those who attended the meeting on Monday, it gave us a good opportunity to share with you the new structure which we are putting in place for our curriculum in the light of the new Ofsted framework. We were also able to explain a little about the health and relationships curriculum which becomes statutory from September 2020. An outline of how we will be covering this will be on the website along with the end of primary school expectations for the health and relationships curriculum. Although it is not statutory for primary schools, we will be teaching a sex and relationships curriculum across the school at an age appropriate level. This will be delivered by class teachers and an outline of this will also be put on the website.

If any of your contact details, such as mobile number, email address or other emergency contacts change, please remember to let us know.

Skills and help

Every now and again we need a bit of specialist help or general manpower support. If you have any professional skills, particularly involving premises, and are willing to help us out on the odd occasions, please could you give your details to Donna or Mandy in the office.

Parents’ open evening

On Monday 11th November we have an open evening from 3.30-7pm. Parents are invited to come along with your child to look at their books and share their learning with them. This is an informal session and, although the class teachers will be around to talk to, we do not have fixed appointment times. Should you wish at any time during the year, to have an appointment with the class teacher regarding your child, please contact the school office and the teacher will get back to you. We will also have a book fair running that evening. You can buy books from the fair and we will get commission to spend on books for the school. Mrs Kent will send out more information next week.

Celebration Assembly

Everyone is welcome to attend our celebration assemblies, where we celebrate children’s successes both in and out of the classroom. Each class will take it in turns to share some of their learning. This will be on Friday afternoons at 2.40pm-3.00pm. The dates on which the classes will be sharing their learning are; 18/10- YR, 25/10-Y5 and 6, 8/11-Y3 and 4, 15/11- Y2. Please remember that this is the children’s time of worship for the day and we ask you to respect that.

What a great way to celebrate the end of the first half term.
