Dear Parent/Guardian,

Christmas crafts breakfast

Thank you to everyone who came and shared in some Christmas crafts with your children over a drink and pastry this morning. It was so lovely to see so many people, the hall was very busy and everyone seemed to be having fun.

Christmas party

On Wednesday 18th December the children are invited to come to school in party clothes. Please ensure they will be warm enough for outside play. They will have some fun activities during the day and a party snack in the afternoon.

We hope you are planning to join us for the Christmas Bazaar which will run after school on Thursday 19th December. We run a “secrets room” where the children can go without their parents and choose a gift which we then wrap up ready for Christmas. This way they have a secret gift to give. We would be very grateful for any unwanted items which could become gifts for someone else. We also will be collecting any children’s gifts which are wrapped and labelled with what age they are appropriate for and whether they are for a boy, girl or either. On the day any donation of cakes for the refreshments room would be welcome. The year 5 and 6 children will also be selling their enterprise week goods.

We are hoping to raise money for some new reading books, specifically with a phonics focus, and a new music scheme which we have been trialling recently.

Local Church events

You are invited to join the church communities at the Christmas events this year. St Mary’s North Marston have their Living Nativity on Saturday 14th December at 3pm at the Wesley Centre, The Christmas nativity is in church at 9.30am on Sunday 15th December and The Lights of Friendship at 4.30pm also on 15th December. St John’s Granborough have their Nativity at 11am on the 15th December in the church.

Celebration Assembly

Everyone is welcome to attend our celebration assemblies, where we celebrate children’s successes both in and out of the classroom. Each class will take it in turns to share some of their learning. This will be on Friday afternoons at 2.40pm-3.00pm.The dates on which the classes will be sharing their learning are; 10/01-Y3/4, 17/01- Y1/2, 24/01- YR, 31/01- Y5/6. Please remember that this is the children’s time of worship for the day and we ask you to respect that. There is a crèche available for younger children in the YR classroom to ensure that the children can be heard as they share their hard work with everyone.

Food allergies

Please be mindful that we have children in school with nut allergies. We ask that you do not put items with nuts or nut products into lunchboxes.
