On Monday 10th February we will be holding an information evening for parents about how to hear your child read effectively and develop a love of reading. This is for all age groups.
“Spelling Frame” is a simple website which supports the children in Years 1 to 6 to practice their spellings.
Use the list of age groups to choose your Year Group and then find the list of words which your child can practice. You can choose to practise a set of words, take a test or play a game with those words. If you practise you will see the word broken down into the syllables and will then be given a series of activities to help you memorise the spelling. If you then spell the word correctly you move onto the next word. If you make a mistake you repeat the process to help you to learn the word. https://spellingframe.co.uk
We are aware that a number of children enjoy online gaming, however we must remind you that it is your responsibility to check what games your child is accessing and what the content and age advice is. Fortnite is very popular however it has an age recommendation of 13+ and therefore primary school children should not be playing or watching it. Attached is some information from National Safety Online which we have been encouraged to share with parents. You can access their website at www.nationalsafetyonline.com for more support and information.
After many years of service on the Governing Board, Sue Chadbund has stepped down from the role. If you are interested in joining the board and helping to lead the school forward in a strategic capacity, we would love to hear from you. You do not need to have a background in education just a desire to help keep the school running successfully and moving forward.
Following feedback from parents last year we have again decided to offer appointment times at the open evenings in the spring term. These will be held on Monday 16th March and Tuesday 17th March. More details will follow nearer the time. Your child will bring home a full report on Friday 6th March.
Our celebration assemblies are held each Friday at 2.40pm. We have a crèche for younger children to attend so that they don’t disturb the worship time. Everyone is welcome to join us. The children from each class will share some of their current learning, the dates for this term are 10/1-Y3+4, 17/1-Y1+2, 24/1-YR, 31/1- Y5+6, 7/2- Forest school, 14/2- Young carers
