We have had another good week in school with a few more children joining the groups in school and we are almost up to capacity in the year groups YR, Y1 and Y6.
The school continues to be open for children whose parents are key workers or the family needs some additional support. This group is also growing as more parents are needing to return to work. We do ask that you give us a week’s notice should you need to take up this provision, so that we can make the appropriate preparations.
The protocols which were set up prior to welcoming more pupils back appear to be effective, and we thank you for adhering to them at drop off and pick up times. Please could I just remind you though, that younger children must stay with an adult at all times if they come up to school with you.
As you will know from the Government announcement earlier this week, unfortunately children in other year groups will not have a start date this term. Plans are being made to bring everyone back in some format in September, all being well. For the rest of this term teachers will continue to send planning via email to the children in Years 2,3,4 and 5.
Towards the end of this term it is usual for us to send out end of year, summative reports for the children. Due to the current situation we do not feel that this would be beneficial as the mid-year formative reports, which gave the assessment data from just before lockdown, had just been sent to you.
With this in mind we will set up an open evening in the second half of the autumn term with appointment slots available so that more formal and informed conversations can be had with their teachers then.
We have put together the list of diary dates for next year, however you must understand that they are provisional at this point in time, as we are still unsure of what the landscape will look like in future months. We are planning and hoping for a more normal time to resume.
Please take care and stay safe.
Our value for this term is Courage.
